Vacation Of Change
We are officially on vacation now, and its time for change. Time to get a grip on our health. Mo had been diagnosed with that "all american disease" high blood pressure for over a year now. We had hoped that with the help of medication we would have made some improvement on his blood pressure but when returning from his last check up with an increase in his medication we know we need to do more.
We've decided to try The DASH Diet Action Plan: Based on the National Institutes of Health Research: Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension that is based on a clinical study that tested the effects of nutrients in food on blood pressure. Study results indicated that elevated blood pressures were reduced by an eating plan that emphasizes fruits, vegetables, and low fat dairy foods and is low in saturated fat, total fat, and cholesterol. The DASH eating plan includes whole grains, poultry, fish, and nuts and has reduced amounts of fats, red meats, sweets, and sugared beverages as well as sodium.
As I focus on this diet I strangely become aware of the differences between Mo and I. He with diabetes and high blood pressure and me with hypoglycemia and hypotension is strange considering we both have the same life style and eat the same things. Ironically DASH seams to be a good choice for both of us although I will have to add a bit of sodium to my diet. So no longer will you catch us seeking grease laden munchies in the drive thru lane at Jack In The Box after gigs(I know there must be something in Jack's food that is addicting). Good bye Jack...your no longer good for me. Camel's Your next... One thing at a time.
Peace & Love, MissyMo

Red Hot Boogie Available For Download And Other Things
Well I finally got Mofessor's Cd Red Hot Boogie onto the web available for mp3 download. Check it out at Mofessor.com in the store section.
Last weekend was a blast. Mo played bass for Big Monti Amundson at Mac's @ the Vet's and they filled the place with that big rockin blues sound we all know Monti for.
This weekend is full of fun. Friday Mo will be at The McDonald with Satin Love Orchestra for the "Habitat for Humanity" benefit. On Saturday it's Cozmic Pizza with JC Rico for the "Embrace of Warmth" benefit. Then on Sunday its off to The Cooler for the First Annual St. Patrick's Irish Festival a benefit for the MidValley Rotary Club. What a fun way to support our local organizations.

Waiting For Phil Spector Retrial Date To be Announced.

We have paid close attention to this case every sense the night of Feb. 4, 2003 when Mo received a phone call telling him that Lana had been shot. Lana Clarkson was a good friend of Mo's in fact his first love. Mo and Lana managed to keep in touch off and on over the years.
Music Producer Phil Spector is accused of killing actress Lana Clarkson Feb. 3, 2003. The original trial (with all the flare that only celeb trials could offer) took place in Los Angeles and began in April of 2007. On Sept.26, 2007, after 5 long months the case ended in a mistrial after the jury failed to reach a verdict after deliberating for 12 days. A hearing has been set for tomorrow with Judge Larry Fidler to check remaining Phil Spector legal team member Christopher Plourd's Case load. A date to determine when the new trial will take place is set for May 22. Well to say the least we have been waiting for this retrial for a long time. How long must we wait for Justice? 5 annoying years ....and still counting.
